Step 1 - Original Setup

A hospital HVAC system with the following characteristics. Minimal maintenance results in energy inefficient air handler unit.

• Number of filters = 25
• Type of filtration = MERV 11
• 25 HP / 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
• Cost of filters: 25 x $12.00 x 3/yr = $900.00 per year
• Cost of maintenance = approx. $2,200.00 per year
• 8760 hours/annually - 188,317 kWh
• @ $0.10 kWh annual cost = $18,831.70

Step 2 - Low Pressure Filter

We change the filters to low-pressure efficiency filters while continuing the standard manual maintenance and monitoring. Although the low-pressure filter is considered a better choice, it is none the less a minimal savings on its own. Step 3 - Filtrometer™
